New Weather Station Software
I have updated the software that I use to update the website from my Davis Station Vantage Vue.
I am part of the way through the change from my old Linux box to a nice, small, power efficient Mac Mini Server.
The first problem was getting the Mac to talk to the Davis Station data logger. Instead of getting the Davis Weatherlink software for Mac, all I needed to do was the install the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers available from http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx. After a reboot, the Mac could see the Davis Station Data Logger.
I tried the demo of Weather Display for the Mac which is pretty clunky but checking a few forums etc, I came across Lightsoft Weather and their Lightsoft Weather Centre .
Lightsoft Weather Centre is very configuration, can do Rapid Fire updates to Wundergound , has a nice CGI update feature and I like the look of the graphs. It is not as complete as wview (my old Linux option) but I am starting to get the hang of it.
Next step is to get the old stats from wview to be loaded into LWC.
